A wet thursday night in Beijing ,China day thirteen of the Games of the 29th Olympiad proved diastrous for a number of teams in the men and women's 4 x 100 m relay.Most noteworthy being the Americans as both men and women teams dropped the baton.
The T&T women's team baton mix up between ,third leg runner, Semoy Hackett and Ayanna Hutchinson on the final leg put paid to T&T's chances.Wanda Hutson got a good start on the  first leg and an exclllent second leg by Kelly Ann Baptiste saw Hackett receive the baton in a good position to press for a place in the final.However disaster struck in the thrid and fourth leg exchange and out went T&T.
Earlier,the T&T mens team finished first in heat one in a conservative 38.26 to earn a shot at the Gold medal.
Keston Bledman ,Marc Burns,Aaron Armstrong and Richard Thompson made no mistake on the night .
